About

Oh, you’re here now, ae? Took you long enough. And now you’re asking what’s the site about? Good question, but first things first – got your tickets? Wonderful! Popcorn stand’s in the corner, go fill up a bucket or two, welcome to the show – ah! So nice to see you again!

Okay. I’ve had my fun. Shall be serious now. The Dispatch was a one-time-only liveblogging experiment for #3D1D. If you don’t know what liveblogging is, then that’s alright – neither did we. But we worked it out during the #3D1D event.  In the #3D1D event, author MCM wrote an entire novel in 3 days, while he was taking suggestions from the audience. This weekend he is doing a similar event, hosted by io9.com, called #2D1D. This was the the official announcement and a trailer.

The same ideas apply, MCM will write a chapter every hour, for which he uses several questions answered by the audience. You can follow everything on the special site he designed for this. While MCM is trying to make sense of all your suggestions, we follow along and offer an inside view to the backstage.  We intend to give you behind-the-scenes footage, cover the tweets and the pictures and the ideas being lobbed to-and-fro online, in real-time, and we plan to provide commentary on the shape and form of the novel as it happens right before our eyes. All this without any inner Editors allowed, so expect some random sillyness!
