About
The Dispatch was a one-time-only liveblogging experiment for #3D1D. If you don’t know what liveblogging is, then that’s alright — neither did we. But we worked it out during the first #3D1D event. In the first #3D1D event, author MCM wrote an entire novel in 3 days, while he was taking suggestions from the audience.
By now there’ve been various livewriting events, all in slightly different formats. This time however, we’re really shaking the tree, because this time, it’s on location. The Vooruit, a big cultural centre in Ghent (Belgium), invited MCM to particpate in the game is up festival. And the Dispatch Crew (except for poor Eli who has exams), will be right there, broadcasting about everything that happens.
The same ideas apply: MCM will write a chapter every hour, for which he uses the answers to several questions provided by the audience. You can follow everything on the special site he designed for this. While MCM is trying to make sense of all your suggestions, we follow along and offer an inside view to the backstage. We intend to give you behind-the-scenes footage, cover the tweets and the pictures and the ideas being lobbed to-and-fro online, in real-time, and we plan to provide commentary on the shape and form of the novel as it happens right before our eyes. All this without any inner Editors allowed, so expect some random sillyness!
