The first live interview / chat was epic. It started a bit slow, but by the end I almost fell of my chair laughing. The sounds a bit lagging at times unfortunately, but nevertheless it was wickedly fun.

Fun fact: when Anna wrote her introducing TNR2 poem here at the dispatch, MCM gave her free reign to write a poem that he would read aloud. She accepted that challenge without a blink, and with a little inspiration from Nancy and me, the following poetical masterpiece was born.

MCM’s Poem

My name is MCM
I ain’t no Eminem
I’m just a backseat driver
and a livewriting survivor.

Yes, that’s right, I’m insane,
I’m an author who loves pain.
Creative Commons are a blast
but this book may be my last.
Livewriting’s not for the light-hearted
I say let’s get the party started!

The old New Real’s so last season
This sequel comes without reason.
Sharing content isn’t theft
I have a right sock but no left.

Tell your sisters and your brother
I’m a known gnome-lover.
So I start to slurp like a leech
but instead of blood I turn to Screech.
It sends me into a wicked trance
of an odd crossworlds romance.
I dream of Aphid holding me
as I struggle to get free.
She clicks “I love bipeds” in my ear
But it’s her antennae I truly fear.

Jan is using PDT time where I was using EDT, so I figured why not just stick closer to home and confuse you all with my faux European time?

Anyway. I only come here to say that MCM is a PANSY for not reading the poem properly (rap-style and without comments interspersed between lines). I solemnly promise to do a proper reading.

I thought I’d add in the questions that were asked in the chat, because MCM is new to recording himself, and he sometimes forgot not everybody would be able to read the questions asked.

So here’s the questions:

Anna: Do you have a soudtrack for TNR2? Does you listen to music whilst writing or is it the utter silence that he finds inspiring or does you listen to the ding dings of gtalk?
Janoda: If you had to produce offspring through intercourse (no IV babies allowed!) with one of the New Real characters, which one would you pick?
Anna: Question: why does Aphid love bipeds so much?
Anna: Does Aphid not have close ties with her own kind?

Anna: what about the other characters? they are all different species, what about connections with their kind?
Nancy: Is the New Real universe inspired in part by any other works? (Star Trek, Red Dwarf, etc?)1:21
Janoda: Are you in Ottawa or with your family? Who is taking care of you through all of this?
